 | Map availability for the Pennine Cycleway
The Pennine Cycleway is a long distance route between Derby and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Unfortunately, the original three Sustrans Pennine Cycleway maps are now all out of print, but there is a brand new map for South Yorkshire and the Peak District which shows the Pennine Cycleway to just beyond Holfmirth.
The Peak District section can also be seen on either the Goldeneye Peak District Cycle Map or the OS Tour Map for the Peak District and Derbyshire. The Goldeneye map is easier to use (waterproof and tear-proof) and has proper contours; it includes the Pennine Cycleway from Derby to Meltham (near Holmfirth).
OS Explorer Map 21 for the South Pennines shows the route from Holmfirth to Barnoldswick.
The Goldeneye Yorkshire Dales map would then have been the best option, but is also now out of print.
OS Landranger maps are then the best option for the route on to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Unfortunately, you would need 5 maps to cover the whole route: Maps 91, 87, 80, 81 and 75 (which we have priced at £5.99 rather than the standard retail price of £6.99).
Distances for each stage: Derby to Holmfirth via Ashbourne and Buxton. Distance: 80 miles. Holmfirth to Appleby. Distance: 124 miles. Appleby to Berwick. Distance: 150 miles.
